I am a DJ at a local radio station in Florence, AL. I met my fiance through work (she won a contest and we started talking after...breaking the first rule of radio, never meet up with someone off the air). We had been dating for a while and I decided that I really wanted to marry her.
Every year my station puts on a festival for the 4th of July. We bring in pretty big bands for this event and usually attract 70,000 + people. I figured this would be the perfect place and time to ask her.
Throughout the day I had her taking pictures for the radio station's website of the event and from time to time I would have her come on stage to take crowd shots. Towards the end of the night I had her on stage with me as we talked up the crowd before the big fireworks display. We (the rest of the station staff and I) were tossing prizes off the stage and I had hidden the ring at the bottom of the bag I had all the prizes in. After I had thrown everything else that was in the bag I announced to the crowd that I had one thing left and asked them who wanted it. I then walked over to her, told the crowd that I was sorry cause this prize was for her. I dropped to one knee and told her that I loved her so much and asked her to marry me (This was all on a live microphone in front of at least 50,000 people). She said yes and the crowd went wild.
