Spencer is a Sous Chef at The Broadmoor's Charles Court. I, Mary, work at a lawfirm during the day doing research and go to school for graphic design at night.

Our Engagement Story:
It all began back in 1996 in Lamar, CO when I was still in high school. Spencer had just graduated and was getting ready to go off to college in Durango. We hung out for a few weeks and had a wonderful time until he left for college and we didn't see eachother again ... until ... ten years later at Spencer's 10-year class reunion. We had both moved away and somehow ended up back in Lamar on the same weekend. There aren't many places to go out in the small town of Lamar, so it isn't that much of a surprise that we ended up at the same bar hanging out. I had gone to dance and when I returned to my chair Spencer was sitting in it. I told him as much and, being the gentleman that he is, he offered up his lap for me to sit on. We got to talking and realized that we had both lived in Colorado Springs for a few years and had never crossed paths. We both made it back home to continue dating realizing that we not only lived in the same city but we were within 10 minutes of each other and frequented many of the same places. It was as if we had been living parallel lives for nearly four years! We eventually moved in together and added a puppy to our one-cat home. On our two-year anniversary Spencer had planned a picnic in the park for us. We went and enjoyed quiche and cheese and crackers and chocolate-covered strawberries. As I was enjoying the view and sipping champagne, Spencer got on one knee, proposed and slipped the ring on my finger before I even knew what to say. Of course, I said yes!!! We have been living happily in our little home downtown planning our wedding ever since and can't wait for our big day!
