Jason is in the Florida National Guard and was starting his year long deployment at the beginning of January. He started with 2 months in Texas and then he would take a long flight to Kuwait. I was able to fly to Texas to see him for a few days. We waited for the block list to be made tell us when he would get to fly home for a 2 week vacation sometime in the middle of his deployment. A few months later we found out that Sept. 1 would be the day we would get to see each other, yet it would be a long wait. So Sept. 1 came and I was so excited, butterflies and all in my stomach. His flight was arriving around 8:00pm. I stood waiting at the gate on the verge of tears cause I was so excited and happy. Of course he was 1 of the last people off the flight and I stood there watching him walk up the ramp and we hugged and kissed and I cried out of pure happiness cause I have not gotten to see or touch him in 6 months. We stood there hugging and not letting go for about 5 minutes when all the sudden he dropped down on his knee, in the middle of the airport, full uniform and everything. He then pulls out a ring and asks me "Will you marry me." I stood there crying, heart racing, butterflies in my stomach and said "Of course." Sadly 2 weeks later he had to fly back to the desert but will be home for good in December.
