Where Brides Go® Featured Engagements

Wendi Beth Davis and Loren Crofutt

Wedding Location: Phoenix, AZ
Wedding Date: March 27, 2010

About Us:
We discovered that when we met, we both were and still are, employed by Home Depot. I have been with Home Depot for 16 years and he has been with them for 8years. We both love animals, camping, motorcycles, football, NASCAR, spending time with our family and friends, barbeques, raising our kids (through the good & tough times), cooking, and having our date night every month!!

Our engagement story:

Loren and I met 6 years ago through mutual friends. We knew that our relationship would last forever within 6 months. We bought a house together, and together with my daughter, we became a family. It wasn't long before Loren's son moved in with us. Of course, we have had lots of ups and downs in dealing with medical issues, child rearing, and adjusting to everyone being under one roof, but I wouldn't trade one minute of the heartaches. They have made us who we are.

I had almost given up on Loren asking me to marry him. He started this journey by going to my parents home and asking their permission/blessing for my hand in marriage. Then he took my best friend shopping with him to show her what he had spent numerous hours the week before, what he had picked out. He then decided to do it on Super Bowl Sunday because my friends and parents would all be at the same place. Well wouldn't you know it? I got the flu and couldn't go! My mom then, planned to have everyone over for dinner the next Saturday after the Super Bowl since I missed out on seeing everyone before. After a week of dropped hints and little slips, I still had no idea what was about to go on.We get to my folks and sat down to eat dinner and everyone finished rather fast and got up from the table and I was still there eating, by myself, and still no clue. My mom finally coaxed me into the living room by telling me that she wanted to show me a funny video clip from my aunt's wedding. I still had no clue. I sat down on the couch with everyone around me, and then all at the same time, my future sister-in-law stood up and faced me with a camera, my future son-in-law had a video camera on me,and Loren came around from behind the couch and got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Totally and utterly in shock,I sat there for a few seconds and guess what comes out of my mouth? No it wasn't the answer yes,I had said "Are You Serious"? He then said "YES!" and I then said "Well HE** YES!!!!! So then I opened the ring box, and couldn't believe my eyes. I had noticed where he had purchased the ring. I then could not resist my next words considering everyone always mocks this commercial, I said out loud to everyone, "Oh my gosh,he went to Jared!" Everyone was hysterical and I was so incredibly overwhelmed with emotion and happiness. It has been a very tough and long road that we have been down, but I firmly believe we were sent down this path to test our love and commitment to each other, and most of all ,it was worth the wait!!! We are now a normal, functioning family of four, with two great kids, who get along pretty well and are both growing up so fast and working hard in school towards both of their bright and successful futures. As for myself, I am so lucky to have such a loyal, sweet, unselfish, gorgeous, protective hard-working man that I love with all of my heart and soul. He still makes my heart ache for him when I am away from him more than a day.

Our wedding vision:

We are paying for our wedding ourselves so we are definitely on a budget. We are having the ceremony with reception following at my Maid of Honor's (Lindsay's) parents home. Our theme is hearts of love and our colors are purple and silver. It will be all set in the backyard with lots of beautiful trees, flowers, and garden. There will be tables/chairs set up with centerpieces I will put together myself. We are going to have a cupcake tower, a Mexican food buffet, a candy buffet table for the guests, a DJ and dance floor with lots of good tunes, small favors for the guests to take with them for a special, memorable evening with our close friends and family.

Check back for wedding details and pictures.
We have invited this couple to feature their wedding with WherebridesGo.com!
